Building Stable Tables in Dallas
In-House Community Market
Crossroads seeks to ensure that all people in Dallas County consistently access nutritious food through our in-house Community Market. With the help of a registered dietitian, we developed a nutrition-based food selection system. This algorithm helps match the types of food available in our Community Market to the amount of food for each shopper according to age and gender as recommended by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Our approach is unique because our food selection system calculates the amounts of fruit, vegetables, proteins, grains, and dairy needed to provide balanced meals for each person in the household.
Our shoppers can receive food by visiting our in-house Community Market or one of our Community Distribution Partners (CDP) or agency sites. Crossroads partners with educational and medical institutions in Dallas County to seek more holistic solutions to deeply entrenched social and economic problems through several of our services.
