“I’m so glad I already knew this was here when I lost my job and really needed it,” Guadalupe says as she loads her car with healthy groceries.
It’s very rewarding that Guadalupe took comfort in knowing we are here and she is welcome, especially in the wake of COVID-19. Guadalupe had been working as a restaurant cook when the pandemic hit. Unfortunately, she contracted the virus; we give thanks her symptoms were not severe.
Guadalupe is raising two teenage daughters, so the time away from work has been incredibly difficult. Her oldest, Carina, accompanied her mom to the pantry and was excited to pick up a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables and lean meats.
We still don’t know the long-term impact COVID-19 will have on our neighbors, particularly those who contracted the virus. But it’s an essential benefit for Guadalupe to receive the nutritious food her body needs to recover, and her family needs to keep their resistance to COVID-19 strong. She’s excited to share her thanks with you.
“Thank you so much for all the things you do to help the people who need it,” she says.
Your support brings hope to our neighbors who need it most. Thank you for joining in this special season of sharing!
